Chicago, 2020, Residential
A beautiful and modern home doesn’t have to cost a fortune. For this urban infill Chicago home we utilized off the shelf materials to design a creative solution that fit the client’s budget. We coupled standard, readily available materials with the timeless design principles of order, scale and rhythm to created a home that causes people to slow down, stop and stare and the unexpected beauty.
The timeless exterior is made possible through an innovative floorplan. We went against the norm by moving the mudroom to the side of the house. This small, but genius details creates an entirely different set of view both of the front façade as well as interior views looking out (and not through a mudroom).
