Capture an Old World GrandeurChicago Old Town Architecture

Set in Chicago’s historic Old Town neighborhood, this 1870s building which survived the Chicago fire was given new life and purpose. We transformed this 6 flat into a single-family home while maintaining historic landmark status. How do you build new within the old? Brownstone accent stones are meticulously matched, tin cornices rebuilt, and brickwork restored. A 1960's concrete replacement porch was removed when we designed a period entryway using Chicago historical society photographs.

Inside, an open floor plan is devised, utilizing large windows to capture abundant light and views to the outside. Vintage newel posts, transom windows, and tilework patterns capture an old world grandeur.
